Staples Jr. Singers Announce First Album in Almost 50 Years, Share New Music

Staples Jr. Singers – the household gospel trio of siblings Edward Brown, R.C. Brown, and Annie Brown Caldwell – have introduced their first new album in nearly 50 years, Looking. Following their 1975 debut When Do We Get Paid, which was reissued by the Luaka Bop label in 2022, the LP is ready for launch on June 14. Try the lead single ‘Misplaced in a World of Sin’, together with a trailer for the album, under.

Looking was recorded by Ahmed Gallab, who performs as Sinkane, and engineered by Albert Di Fiore. The rhythm part is made up of R.C’s son Gary, his grandson Jaylin, and Edward’s son Troy. “The method was very straightforward,” Gallab stated in a press launch. “There’s nothing like a household bond/band. It was so particular to look at how locked into one another everybody was. You may hear and really feel that on this file.”

“It was good to have the ability to return and look again over our life,” Annie Brown Caldwell shared. “Among the similar songs that we had sung, these songs have a brand new which means to me.”

“I really feel like I used to be capable of witness a part of this household’s continued story and legacy in actual time,” Gallab added. “That was a really particular factor to witness.”
